The night before the final hackathon weekend!
Hello Hackers!
We hope you had a good week and are feeling ready to get hacking again! Remember that tomorrow is your last official day of hacking, as your Devpost project page + video and Teachers’ Manual are all due on Sunday by 10am EST / 7am PST. To those on the west coast: we highly recommend using the extra evening hours you have to submit everything the night before!
As a reminder of the judging process: your Teachers’ Manual and Devpost page + video will first be evaluated Sunday morning from 10am-12:30pm EST (7am-9:30am PST). Using these, the top 7 teams will be determined by 12:30pm EST (9:30am PST) and allowed to progress to the Final Pitches stage. These presentations will be held on Zoom via the usual link. You will have 5min to present and show a demonstration of your project! You should assume the judges have not seen your video/manuals. The Final Pitches will also be streamed LIVE on Twitch for those who would like to see other groups present -- feel free to invite your friends or family to watch! We will send around a link for this through the Discord.
The “People’s Choice Award”, worth $300, will be selected via Public Voting on Devpost. This begins as soon as the deadline for submissions passes and extends until October 11th at 10am. Make sure to get your friends and family to vote for your project! They will need to make a Devpost account to do so.
We also want to remind you to post a few Devpost updates and to add to the Hackathon Google Photos album to contend for the “Most Active Team Award”! The album is linked here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/JPLNo6xnKeL1pBv56. If you haven’t already, check out Pueblo Science on social media (@puebloscience) to see some photos from the hackathon so far!
Finally, as tomorrow is the final hacking day, make sure to get all the help you need from our mentors and supermentors! Just use @mentor and/or @supermentor in your team’s private channel and describe what you need help with. Also make sure to check out the #event-questions tab for some FAQs! I also highly recommend checking out the hackathon projects from last year using the link under #important-links or here: www.puebloscience.devpost.com.
Best of luck and see you all tomorrow,
Pueblo Science Team
