Day 3 of Hacking!

Hello everyone!

Five weekdays later, we now approach the penultimate hackathon day before submissions! Make sure to reach out to mentors ASAP to get all the help you need before submission time tomorrow morning. Don’t forget to post a few updates on your Devpost and add photos to the Google Photos album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/JPLNo6xnKeL1pBv56.

Remember, the soft deadline for submissions on Devpost is tomorrow morning at 8am EST (5am PST). By this time, please have most of your project ready on your Devpost page. The hard deadline, after which time hacking is officially over and you can no longer make changes to your Devpost page, is tomorrow morning at 10am EST (7am PST). Devpost will be used to submit your Teachers’ Manual and your video as well: both may be added as links only. Make sure to create a Google Documents link for your Teachers’ Manual that is not restricted and can be viewed by anyone. Also make sure to test that your video link works before submitting it (we recommend making a listed or unlisted video on Youtube)!

Today, we have our last 3 workshops of the hackathon! At 12pm EST (9am PST), Tharindu Prabatha will lead a discussion on challenges and opportunities for renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives. At 1pm EST (10am PST), we will be hearing from Ryan Kavanagh, a Senior Career Advisor at U of T, who will be answering your questions about resumes and hosting a resume roast! Submit your resumes and resume-related questions here: https://forms.gle/bmMT7NxauPb6v96NA. Finally, Prof. Cynthia Goh will be speaking at 5pm EST (2pm PST) on her project bringing solar energy and local innovation to remote communities in the Philippines. In the evening, we will also be hosting our second Game Night on Discord!

Best of luck, Hackers!
